Upper lip, chin, armpits, bikini line, intimate area, beard and hairline, arms, legs, back, shoulders, stomach, chest, buttocks - almost all easily accessible areas of the body can be treated.

The treatment can be carried out on all hair that contains sufficient pigment (melanin). Laser epilation is particularly effective on dark hair due to the high content of eumelanin (black-brown pigment) in the hair. Light blonde and very fine hair, as well as red hair, generally react little or not at all to laser therapy. They predominantly contain pheomelanin (red-yellow pigment), which absorbs light very poorly. However, the success of treatment cannot be predicted in individual cases. Surprisingly good results have also been observed with blonde hair (less pigment). Conversely, there are also exceptions with particularly stubborn, dark hair.
The exact result is influenced by other factors:

  • Hair colour
  • Hair thickness
  • Hair depth
  • Treatment area
  • Skin type/ skin tolerance
  • Skin structure
  • Light intensity

Yes, by choosing the right light intensity and working method, it is also possible to treat tanned or even ‘black’ skin safely and gently. After prior consultation and examination, the right treatment method is selected and a customised treatment concept is created. Among other things, an automatic skin analysis is carried out to determine the exact pigmentation of the skin area to be treated (skin type).

No, probably not. No one can. Some hairs will be too light or too thin for sufficient heating of the hair roots, but they are also barely recognisable and therefore inconspicuous.

Every person has around 5 million hair follicles. Only some of these are active at any one time. Active hair roots that have been destroyed die and cannot regenerate. However, when new hair grows back years later, usually only sporadically, it grows from hair roots that were previously inactive and therefore could not be reached during the previous treatment.

Depending on the skin and hair colour, hair thickness and the area to be treated, around 6 - 10 treatments are realistic. It can certainly be less - but more is also possible. A personal consultation and a detailed medical history are required.

The treatment is only ever effective for hair that is at the end of the growth phase (anagen phase). Only in the growth phase does the hair connect the hair papilla to the skin surface. At any one time, however, only approx. 10-20% of body hair is in the growth phase.

In addition, the pigment cells (melanocytes) of the hair root do not constantly produce melanin. The formation of melanin only begins in the late growth phase, which is why only then can the hair root be sufficiently heated using light energy. All other ‘co-treated’ hairs also fall out, but grow back with a delay.

Depending on the area of the body, hair loss lasts between 10 and 20 days. It will appear to you as if the hair continues to grow normally. Please be patient! The hair root is irreparably damaged by the high-energy light - unfortunately not visible from the outside. The hair is separated from the hair root and slowly shed from the skin. It can take up to 3 months for new hair to grow out of the skin.

The hair should be as short and shaved as possible for the treatment (approx. 1-2 days beforehand) in order to achieve a comfortable and effective epilation. It is important that the hair is not plucked or pulled out beforehand to facilitate heat conduction from the surface to the hair root (papilla, capillary).

Depending on the area of the body to be treated and individual hair growth, there should be at least 4 to 12 weeks between sessions in order to treat as many hairs as possible during the growth phase. There is no faster way. Hair growth changes as a result of the treatment, so that even remaining hair grows back more slowly.

Thanks to the continuous development of light and laser technology over the past 20 years, the treatment is now very gentle and painless when used correctly. Most people feel a slight prick or tingling sensation. However, the sensation of pain is individual and varies greatly depending on the area of the body or the ‘form of the day’.

A slight feeling of tension, possible slight reddening of the skin and small swellings (pustules) are normal, but fade after a few hours.

Before and after each treatment (approx. 7 days), intensive sunbathing or tanning should be avoided to prevent skin reddening and irritation. Otherwise, a safe and pleasant treatment may become more difficult. To avoid undesirable side effects such as pigment shifts, the skin should always be protected from direct sunlight, e.g. with sun protection factor 30 or higher, even after treatment.

All employees of Studio Haarfrei Passau have completed the training and examinations required by the NiSV (Non-ionising Radiation Ordinance). What does NiSV specialist training involve?

  • NiSV training for a valid certificate of competence consists of 2 modules, which must be completed with an examination:
  • Module 1 ‘Fundamentals of the skin and its appendages’ comprises at least 80 teaching units of 45 minutes each. This covers topics such as anatomy, physiology of the skin, overview of devices for the use of non-ionising radiation, the effects of radiation, etc.
  • Module 2 ‘Expertise in optical radiation’ focuses on technology.
  • 120 teaching units of 45 minutes each

The Spark Pro belongs to the premium class of laser devices. Development and production in Israel (Haifa) ensures the highest quality standards.

  • All devices are manufactured according to ISO standards, have medical CE approval and FDA approval.
  • The German Association for EU Conformity in Frankfurt confirms the correctness of the authorisation after inspection. This gives our customers confirmation that our devices are NOT cheap Chinese imports with an illegal CE.
